Sneakers to Wed: The Cake

So right now I am in the very, very preliminary stage of wedding planning! No, no date yet, but you'll be the first to know when I know! :)

So the most important part of the wedding to me is the cake!
OMG, it is so hard to pick a cake!
You want something unique, yet classic, memorable, yet not to over the top, yummy, but pretty!
Ughhhhhhh, there's so much to think about.

So I need your help. Here are a few cakes that "caught my attention..."

The "Where's the Cake?" cake...

Pretty, yet something's just not there for me...

The "Hostess with the Mostest" cake...

Hmmm? Not fillin' it!

The "red-ICK-ulous" cake...

love the, "looks like it's going to come crashing down any second," look, but I'm leaning in a different direction I think...

The "Do these jeans make me look fat? cake...

Cute but I think my matching jean dress might be a little too much, or maybe not? You tell me.

The "Naughty Castle" cake...

I'm all about a beach theme castle cake, but some thing sticks out to me...can''t decide what it is, but something's just wrong!

The "Pink Bush" cake...

I love me some pink but this one's a little hairy to me!

The "Feelin' Groovy" Cake...

This cake is tie dye for! :) I love the 80's but this might be a little explosive color wise for me?

The, "Weed-ing" Cake...

The weed is actually my favorite flower so I think this would be perfect! Plus I could use my new pink weed eater for cake cutting festivities!

Holy Crap this is hard!
There are so many to choose from!

And I have not even thought about a cake topper yet!?!

See why I need you guys!

In all seriousness...what wedding cakes have you seen that you really liked? What's in these days?

So glad you are so happy! And cake picking---SO fun!!! I love watching the Cake Boss, that show is amazing. Makes me wish I needed a fabulous occasion for a beautiful cake!

I still remember our wedding cake, and we've been married 26 years. It was very simple, from my favorite local bakery, and had a simple blown glass top decoration on it. Planning is great fun, and don't let it stress you out. It's your special day!

Oh my goodness... those are so funny! I absolutely loved our wedding cake. We had the classic white frosting, in three layers that were staggered. But I had dark chocolate ganache over the top and dripping down the sides. I'm a huge chocolate lover and it was so so so so good!!!!! Really really good. Best wedding cake I've ever had. No regrets on that one. Good luck with your cake search!
