Some BLING to go with the Sneakers!

Well it's most certainly time for an update cuz I gotz BIG NEWS!!!!

I'll just put it out there...cuz pretty much everyone knows anyway...

I GOT ENGAGED!!!

Now you'll want to hear this story, cuz it ROCKS!
So my GQ and I took a little trip to Utah this past week...

Had the most amazing time in Southern Utah hangin' with my mom and sis and an awesome family we luv.

We  shot some hoops...
But it didn't happen on the court...nope.

Took a little stroll in the park...
Lovely, but GQ only dropped to one knee in order to tie his shoe.

Went on an INCREDIBLE hike through some narrow red rocks...

Crammed myself between to ginormous rock...but those were the only rocks I saw! :)

Beautiful scenery, but it didn't happen here either.

Did some sweet Smore making with the family..

.
But it didn't happen here either.

A classy pool side proposal???
Nope!

WAAAAAAAAYYYYY better than all that. You ready. Here's the REAL STORY...

We came to Utah so I could perform in my dance recital; I had been working with my team for a year so when I decided to move to Louisiana the plan was always for me to come home for the year end show.

The second night of the recital we finished dancing and were on stage after bowing and doing our finale thingy and I was dressed like this...

Yep, like Cruella Deville!

Well, I was sitting listening to my mom, who owns the dance studio, talk about a few things on the mike, like what a great job everyone did, when suddenly she asked me to come up to the front of the stage...

HUGE LUMP IN THROAT DEVELOPS!

I looked at my mom like she was nuts! I went anyway.
She proceded to tell everyone how inspiring I am and on and on like mom's do! :) I was so embarrassed!

She continued talking and suddenly I hear this eruption of clapping and cheering and I was like,
"WHAT THE CRAP!?!"  I didn't realize I had so many fans!

I tried looking around at what in the world people were screaming about but my mom blocked my view. So after a few seconds someone taps me ont he shoulder and it's my sweet GQ!!!

I just cover my face with my hands, I am in complete shock! I even asked him, "What are you doing?"

He cried. I cried. He mumbled something, all I caught was, "You're beautiful...blah, de, blah, blah" I couldn't really make it out.

He finally got down on one knee and I guess he asked me to marry him, never really heard him ask, but there was suddenly a ring on my finger and I was nodding, "Yes!"  I was relieved to later learn afterhe really did ask.

....all in front of about 500 people!

I honestly had NO IDEA! It was the best surprise of my life.

Isn't he a brave guy!

In all sincerity, it was the most magical night of my life! I felt like I was in a movie or dreaming or making this up in my crazy head, but was relieved to realize it was reality!

Ok, I'm about to get cheesy, hang in there.

I never dreamed I would find someone like GQ. We have been through a lot together, a deployment being the biggest thing, and we came through stronger than when we started. He is truly the happiest, most optimistic, most loving, most genuine man I know.

He made me smile bigger than I thought I could that night and he makes me smile every day, even when I'm grumpy and don't feel like smiling.

I met him my first day of graduate school, in a statistics class, I never loved math til that day! I knew, from the moment I saw him, he was a gift that was being given to me. He made me feel alive again, at a time when I wasn't sure how much I had left in me.

Thanks to everyone who was there to share in our amazing moment, who have shared their congratulation, who cried with us, who cheered for us, who have believed in us and who have loved us.

It's a night I will never forget!
