Neonocity...

So back in the day, say mid 80's, I was a pretty Awesomely Bodacious Babe (literally, I was like 8-years-old, max.). I always was dressed to the 9's (thanks mom) and well, looked pretty dang rad most of the time. Well I've started to notice a lot of the trends from 80's are so back! Some of my old "pals" I'm thrilled to have back in my life, some, like totally not!

Now Slap Bracelets, loved em, craved em, bought Arctic Circle's kids meals just for em, but didn't you hear, slap bracelets kill people so let's keep them off our streets....we have enough stuff killing our youth!

Oh stick on earrings, how I loved thee! I'm sorry but if you didn't have stick on earrings ladies of the 80's, you were so not legit!

The side ponytail...so in again! But the scrunchy, so out...sadly! My love for scrunchies as a wee child was outta-this-world, every color, every design, every outfit had a matching one. I'm all for a scrunchy come back, anyone in!?!

They're baaaaack.....leg warmers, what have we done the last 12 years or so to keep our legs warm!?! One one of my dance costumes this year even comes with leg warmers--hot pink one's no less. I have mixed feelings about this comeback, what do you think? Dope or So Not Dope?

Ok, there is one thing that I pray, hope, plead, beg to not come back....

the fanny pack! Ahhhhhh....they're scary people! While they may be perfectly convenient, they are perfectly hideous, I beg of you not to give in to this "convenience"! (Disclosure: I apologize to any fanny pack wearers who read this blog but it's for your own good!)

Now on the other hand...

Fluorescent...loved the neon then, love it now! I love neon colors! Why? Unsure. But they make me happy and remind me of my old bedroom with its black-light joyness! Fluorescent, you are always welcome back into my life!

Now these babies...
Jelly Shoes! I don't know about you guys but I thought jelly shoes were da bomb! Seriously choice, my fave! The jelly shoe....I've seen em' around again, watch out new millennium. You know, the shoe is relatively versatile, although not equipped for winter wear, and not terribly fashionable in my humble opinion. What do you think, jellies fly or un-fly?

And last, but certainly not least, it's Hammer Time!

Parachute pants...can you say Gross Me Out! Homegirl, homeboy, these pants won't look good on you, any of you, they're not flattering (unless your want your butt and hips to look even huger!) Don't be a poser...leave the hammer pants to The M.C. Hammer!
Speaking of The M.C. Hammer....this groupie will so be at his concert on Friday!
So this post is over....go play some M.A.S.H: (1)Noun(Acronym for: mansion, apartment, shack, house.) An elementary/middle school game that provided random futures. Example: "Last night I played MASH with Susie and I got Johnny as a husband!"

I love love love slap bracelets, remember getting them taken away at school...a lot! I also liked jellies, but if you get a rock in one of those suckers it really hurt.

I love leg warmers, but I guess I wear them a little different. I wear them under a boot where they just pop out the top, super cute!!! My daughter looks cute however she wears the though! Kids look great in anything!

TOTALLY!!! You get all that 80's stuff on and you're one in style chicka! The Jelly Shoes though, my favorite!!! I begged and begged for them only to finally get them and get the biggest most horrible blisters and have my feet sweat so nastily in them. Love it!

Jelly shoes! Wow, I loved them. They gave me blisters, but I insisted on wearing them every day. Do they still make them, I wonder? You've inspired me to google them to find out.
