Black Caps and Pink Pumps

Accomplishment: That which completes, perfects, or equips thoroughly; acquirement; attainment; that which constitutes excellence of mind.

For a day that was meant to be filled with an overwhelming sense of
accomplishment
, a Master's Degree in hand, a 3.94 to my name and a highly sought after job waiting for me in Utah, I stood there at a loss...

a loss for words or feelings to describe this journey. My moment of great
accomplishment
made me proud (for sure) but I stood their realizing this degree I held with trembling hands was nothing compared to the young lady who was holding it.

I had become this Deja I always wanted to be and now I had to walk away from the place, the pace and the people...

Through smile covered tears I pressed on that 14th day of August with a cap on my head and a pounding in my chest. It was my day but not really, it was for everyone there who pushed me, loved or hated me, laughed or cried with me, stuck with me and sometimes even carried me.

It was OUR big day...

You are my hero! I am so proud of everything you have done. You set a goal and you went out there and got it done. It wasn't the easiest thing and you came through with flying colors. May the Lord bless you as you start yet another adventure. PS- your hair color is fantastic. You look so great.

Dangit, Deja! What is it about you that either makes me cry, or makes me want to cry???

Lol.

I'm so proud you, I can't even properly express it. Seeing the pictures of you in your snazzy cap and gown just made my heart warm. How I wish I could have been there to cheer for you when you walked across that stage.

More than that, though, I think I'm prouder of the fact that you're starting to see what a wonderfully amazing person you are, and have been, and I'm sure will always be.

Many, many, many congratulations and best wishes and bone-crushing Zainub-bear-hugs, dearest roomie in the world. I miss you dearly, and wish I could be there to celebrate with you. =)

Now where should I send your gift? Because I have it, and I've been waiting to send it to you, but I need an address!
